2008 rolls around, our President-elect 2000 remains
tight-lipped on whether or not he'll run again.
But the GOP trash are still out to get him - just
in case he's planning another dastardly attempt to sneak
into
Washington by winning an election.
There are so many wingnut
blogs, Christian
sites and random screeds bashing Gore on the net that some
of the 2000 vintage trash is even starting to merge with
more
recent
lies spawning brand new mutant strains of propaganda. Old
chestnuts like "Al
Gore claims to have invented the Internet" are
still popular favorites with the Bushbots who are much happier
to give him credit for inventing global warming instead.

Never before has a man tried to do some good and been so
persecuted for it... You might think that Christians would
dig that irony,

works for the crook in the White House, says so many goofy

cite."
Or,
in simpler words, could someone please read his book and
let us know?

So
now the Christian wrong have established Gore as a God-hating
pagan by citing crap that they made up themselves, why not try
asking them what Gore was up to during Katrina's
aftermath while their
own stumblefuck president left New Orleans
to drown. Was Gore dancing sky-clad around a pentagram
celebrating Gaia's vengeance on humanity? Was he laughing into
his latté while
good Christians prayed for God's children in distress? Ask a
wingnut and they won't know because it's highly unlikely this 100%
true email (unlike
the mass-mailed lie above) ever found its way
into their in-box:

A Story You Will Not Hear Dear Ones, Here is a story you
will not hear on the endless media reports about Louisiana,
because the man involved will do no interviews and has only
told the press that he wants no mention of his action, lest
it be "politicized".
Al Gore, private citizen with, certainly, a certain clout, began an initiative
on Thursday, September 1st. He personally and privately rented and American Airlines
jet and crew, got a doctor friend of his and several nurses, and on Saturday
morning, he flew to Louis Armstrong airport in New Orleans, gathered up 140 elderly
and ill people from the triage center there and flew them to the Knoxville, Tennessee
airport. They were met by relief workers who unloaded the plane and took the
people to area hospitals which were on alert and ready to welcome the people.
After being checked out, those who were able were taken to a Red Cross shelter
set up at a local church. Mr. Gore and his doctor had intended to make a second
trip on Saturday, but the undertaking - the loading on and the loading off took
several hours each, and by the time he could go back to N.O., it was getting
dark and, of course, there are no landing lights at the airport in N.O. Sunday,
they flew to Dallas and collected another planeload of evacuees and brought them
to Chattanooga. That's as far as my information goes. I only know this because
the local paper was at the Knoxville airport and got pictures of the people and
Mr. Gore moving among them, helping them off the plane. His doctor spoke briefly
to the local press, saying,"Al called and asked for help. So here I am."
This is the man we elected president.
So
how does the smartest, most well-intentioned man in American
politics stop his head exploding in the face of the
relentless barrage of hack attacks
from the right wing mouth breathers? Because he's
a better man than I. And, most importantly, because he's
a
better
man than
