THE SCOTSMAN
Aye, There's The Dub
We step into the world of online dub reggae this week with a brilliant "play
or buy" site. For those mystified by this oft-bandied term, "dub" is
essentially an instrumental version of a reggae song, stripped down to its
rhythm track but with a few sound effects thrown in. It found its apogee during
the late 1970s. This website is by Fried Wire, who as far as I can tell is
an ex-pat from the Midlands currently living in California, which, of course,
makes him perfectly qualified for this genre. But it's still ace and could
pass for peak-period dub. THE

Choice Dub Reggae Net Album
This came through as a comment from my site and it’s honestly the best ‘home
made’ dub reggae I’ve heard in a long, long time. Thought you might
enjoy it too. Sounds like the best of the Butch Cassidy Sound System meets
Lee Scratch Perry. MunchBreak.com
