THE SCOTSMAN

Aye, There's The Dub

We step into the world of online dub reggae this week with a brilliant "play or buy" site. For those mystified by this oft-bandied term, "dub" is essentially an instrumental version of a reggae song, stripped down to its rhythm track but with a few sound effects thrown in. It found its apogee during the late 1970s. This website is by Fried Wire, who as far as I can tell is an ex-pat from the Midlands currently living in California, which, of course, makes him perfectly qualified for this genre. But it's still ace and could pass for peak-period dub. THE SCOTSMAN (6-23-07)

MUNCHBREAK.COM

Choice Dub Reggae Net Album

This came through as a comment from my site and it’s honestly the best ‘home made’ dub reggae I’ve heard in a long, long time. Thought you might enjoy it too. Sounds like the best of the Butch Cassidy Sound System meets Lee Scratch Perry. MunchBreak.com

This active member of the Versionist Riddim Community predominantly uses the computer to create his music. A music that shows a talent to create some really nice material in several different styles.

Walk In Light (Fear No Darkness) MP3 review

Deep and deadly Digi-Dub, created with the use of some very interesting use of effects. It's really an "audio-painting", as pictures that have to do with the title come up while experiencing this one.
