WASHINGTON STANDOFF: DAY 1,294

It's been six long years since Bushco kidnapped democracy. Who would have thought we'd put up with this crap for so long? Who would have bet that the American people were such a bunch of masochists? The GOP that's who.

The people of America do not deserve this government. Hell, the people of France wouldn't deserve this government.

ONE MAN'S REASON IS ANOTHER MAN'S TREASON

Jesus beard or a terror beard?

This week the wingnuts got their panties in a bunch after Al Gore went on a speaking engagement in Saudi Arabia. What did Gore do wrong? Apparently* he had the gall to tell his audience (of Arabs) that Bush does not speak for all American people. And, for those fuckwits for whom Bush does speak, this is treasonous. The Gore-haters seem to think we have the kind of totalitarian society where state and head of state are synonymous and beyond criticism. Bad news Bushbots: we're still a democracy (just about).

Here's some random anti-Gore rhetoric harvested from the Web:

Bauer accuses Gore of attacking America

Republican midget and 'American Values' representative Gary Bauer accused Gore of "giving ammunition to America's enemies by verbally attacking his own country." Yeh, get off your high Shetland pony Bauer: attacking Bush and attacking America are polar opposite activities however much your party of liars and thieves would have us believe otherwise.

New York Post letters page crank

Another pinheaded Bush-bitch opinined on the New York Post letters page under the fair and balanced headline "Al spews gore-bage: so what else is new?" The deluded tool (I'm being polite) writes that Al Gore "and most members of the loony left, have no shame." No shame huh? So...

Should Gore feel shame?
Should Al Gore have shame because he lied and cheated his way into the White House in 2000? Nope.

Should Al Gore have shame because he, his family, and his associates have made personal fortunes abusing their positions of power to kiss up to the enemies of America? Nope.

Should Al Gore have shame because he has remorselessly milked 9-11 for all its worth even though it was the incompetence of his own mis-adiministration that allowed it to happen in the first place? Nope.

Should Al Gore have shame for selling out operational control at six American seaports to sponsors of terrorism? Nope.

Currently, Bushco speaks for less than half of the American people (35% if believe CBS, 42% if you believe Fox). So what did Al Gore say wrong?

Future Al Gore talking point:
Yesterday Donald Rumsfeld cited al Qaeda's Web skills as a main reason for their success. How long before Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter dig up the 'Al Gore claims he invented the Internet' bullshit story again and start getting ideas? (No need to thank me, Bushbots.)

*(I would have posted a link to a transcript here but, despite the internet acres devoted to trashing it, no-one seems to be providing a full transcript of the speech. God forbid people should be allowed to actually read what they are being asked to disagree with.)

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!
I spotted this self-adhesive abomination on the back of a car the other day and drove nearly a mile behind it with my flipping finger fully deployed... pass me the thimerosal, I gots me some votin' to do...

DO YOU KISS JESUS WITH THAT MOUTH?

Neoconservative bullshitters love to smarm like TV evangelists and push the self-righteousness. But, off-camera and off-mike, they're likely to come over more John Gotti than John The Baptist. Dick 'The Don' Cheney's infamous 'fuck you' to Patrick Leahy is just the tip of a profanity-laden iceberg.

Who gives a fuck about profanity you may ask? Fried Wire is no stranger to the colorful phrase and there is no salty language known to man that would give me a fit of the vapors. But, then again, I don't portray myself as a holier-than-thou prayaholic with only God on my mind to froth-mouthed fake-Christian fuckwits to solicit their votes. Those Cuntservative pols are all values on the one hand, all trash talk and nefarious deeds on the other. In an honest world there would be only two reasons for any of these corrupt politico pricks to even enter a church (and risk bursting into flames): 1) to jack the collection plate or 2) to strain a few more votes from the loyal but deeply gullible Bible Belt.

MSNBC - that spineless echo chamber for cuntservative ranting points - once gushed that "George W. Bush is among the most openly religious presidents in US history." Yup, sure, the Connecticut cowboy is just one Jesus Day and a faith-based initiative shy of canonization. (Though, as a sidebar, shouldn't he get some reward from il Papa for single-handedly turning the Supreme Court 55% Catholic with the Alito and Roberts confirmations?) But for all his 'head-bowed-in-prayer' photo opps, this fake-based Commander in Chimp is only managing to fool the kind of functionally illiterate dumbasses who view Pat Robertson's 700 Club as a news source and imagine Jesus Christ to be a gun-toting US hegemoniac who hates them damn' ayrabs.

Back in 1999, bow-tied GOP eunuch Tucker Carlson interviewed the Reverend Bush for Talk magazine. The interview yielded a hearty three 'fucks' in three pages and prompted Carlson to pussify: "Bush’s brand of forthright tough-guy populism can be appealing, and it has played well in Texas. Yet occasionally there are flashes of meanness visible beneath it." A year later, Bush failed to realize that he and Cheney were still miked after a press conference and referred to New York Times reporter Adam Clymer as "a major league asshole." Let us pray...

Karl Rove is another famous example of the prayer/profanity dichotomy. Journo Ron Suskind remembers overhearing a Rove tantrum as he waited outside his White House office. "We will fuck him," Rove said, "Do you hear me? We will fuck him. We will ruin him. Like no one has ever fucked him!" Apparently, a White House underling had displeased Rove beyond the scope of conventional prayer. We will fuck him... like no one has ever fucked him. Amen.

Doug Thompson also writes about his encounter with an equally forthright Tom DeLay during Thompson's stint as Vice President for Political Programs at the National Association of Realtors:

"Fuck the law," Delay told me in a meeting in 1990. "I don’t give a rat’s ass about the law." DeLay wanted us to hire more Republicans. When I told Delay that I didn’t care whether the folks I hired were Republican or Democrat as long as they did the job, he got mad. "Listen you cocksucker," he said, his eyes narrowing. "I'm tired of mealy-mouthed assholes like you kowtowing to the Democrats. We’re keeping a list and you’re on it. Either start supporting Republicans or you’ll find yourself out in the cold." That's a double 'amen' from the Hammer right there...

So what's my point? Only that these cuntservative cussers may as well wear t-shirts proclaiming their hypocrisy and that only a freakin' moron would give any credence to professions of deep faith based on the evidence of what these crooks say and do. Maybe wing nuts would argue that the Dems are just as bad. Sure there's sleaze on the other side of the House but nothing that can match the ferocity and relentlessness of the GOP war on ethics.

Show me one Democrat, for example, who divorced his wife by dropping the papers off at the hospital while she was suffering from ovarian cancer so he could marry his younger adulterous love interest like Newt Gingrich. Show me the Democrat who left his wife and two kids to shack up with his admin assistant like Gingrich protégé Jim Nussle of Iowa. Show me a Democrat who was arrested for frequenting prostitutes, but "couldn't forgive Bill Clinton" for his immorality like Ken Calvert. Show me a Democrat who campaigned against gays adopting kids, but got jailed for molesting their own foster children like Earl Kimmerling. Show me a Democrat whose affair with their son's wife ended up with her committing suicide like George Roche III. Show me a Democrat who has tirelessly campaigned for family values while conducting a ten-year affair with his secretary like Mike Bowers. Show me a Democrat who has slandered the opposing party as 'the party of homosexuals' then shut the hell up when an openly gay member of that party threatens to reveal the closet gays in the Republican party like Orrin Hatch did... You feelin' me yet? (top)

REPUBLICAN CREEP CREDENTIALS: TRUE OR FALSE?

1.
Prescott Bush and Herbert Walker, the father and father-in-law of George Bush Senior, headed Nazi Germany's banking operations in New York City until the government seized control of their Union Banking Corporation under the Trading with the Enemy Act.
2.
Karl Heinz Roverer, Karl Rove's grandfather, was regional Nazi State Party Chairman and helped build the Birkeneau death camp for Hitler.
3.
The family of John W. Hinckley Jr., the man who winged The Gipper, made substantial donations to Bush Senior's presidential campaign.
4.
As a medical student, Republican Representative Ron Paul cruised animal shelters to score cats for vivisection experiments at home. He later admitted "It was a heinous and dishonest thing to do."
5.
A female staffer who had been active in Florida’s Bush v. Gore 2000 election recount was found dead in former congressman Joe Scarborough’s office in July 2001. Due to non-coverage by the American media, virtually nobody knows this happened - even though Democrat Gary Condit's disappeared intern became a daily news soap.
